No clamps are needed with this pipe. You use the compatible barbed elbow, Tee, union, etc... type fittings and they will just screw into this pipe. They make a nice secure/sealed fit when they are screwed into the pipe.
Yes, this hose will hold its shape. Kind of hard to work with but, it can be done.
I do not think so. You would need an adapter. I believe that is what I did.
I believe that I used clamps for mine. It is certainly easier to install the clamps when the trench is dug then to have it leak and put it in then.
blueduck, this riser flex pipe is only meant for use with poly fittings. PVC and poly pipe (and, therefore, fittings) have different outer dimensions, and as a result they are not interchangeable.

This pipe is for outdoor use with cold water (under 80 degrees F) only, with a maximum pressure of 150 psi.
Inside: .49" Outside: .70" Wall Thickness: .10"
125 PSI. Can be used with outdoor, cold water only. Using for air can cause it to melt.
