Q:What is the max discharge hight above the pump?
by|Oct 8, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, With 1-1/2" pipe, 25' is the max. Using something smaller will limit the height that it can push the water. Thanks

This is the third Superior submersible pump I bought in 3 years. The two previous ones went broke after approximately 1 year in service (10hrs/day, all year long), just after the warranty was expired. It seems they are made just good enough to pass the warranty period. The first one failed to work by loosing the lubricant, the second one shorted out because of water infiltration through a leak in the gasket, and also had completely corroded screws and metal parts. I'm using them to keep the overflow basin of a pool level, by pumping overflow water back into the pool, which used to be originally performed by a 1,5 hp selfpriming pool pump. Obviously the power-consumption with the use of this pump is a fraction of what the 1,5 hp poolpump used to be, which did quit working after 4,5 years, and the replacement cost would have been 5 to six times the cost of the submersible pump. For this reason, even if I have to buy a new one every 13 to 14 months, I will still save money. Schouldn't be this way, but it is what it is, these pumps are not built to last much longer than the warranty period.

          Great little pump
This pump came ready to install with the correct adapter for my application. All I had to do was place it in my sump, connect my pipe and plug it in. It only took about 30 minutes and I was in business.

I had an Everbilt pump that overheated because several frogs got trapped in the intake screen of the pump housing. I bought this Superior 92330 pump because the intake holes are smaller than the Everbilt pump and located more on the bottom of the housing, making it more frog friendly. However, the flow rate is less. I pumped out the pond in my yard to winterize it and the pump ran smoothly and quietly. I will see if the flow rate is adequate when I put the pond into operation again in the spring. Seems like a good value.

It didn't float and so didn't pump
Its didn’t pump automatically. Float switch should float when water get to it. No it remains in place till, I moved it with my hand and thats when the machine started pumping. If there is no one to move it, it will not pump. I returned it. The connecting wire is too thick and stiff to float.

                  Hi there,
The length of the float switch cord can be lengthened so that it will turn up to activate the pump. If you needed it to turn on sooner, we would recommend a pump with the verticle float switch.
                  Thanks SuperiorPump
