AnswerThank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. According to vendor specs PEX tubing is for use in hot and cold potable water distribution systems as well as hydronic radiant heating systems. PEX tubing can also be used in “continuously recirculating” plumbing systems up to 140° F while maintaining chlorine resistance. The tubing may be installed in concrete, gypsum based lightweight concrete, sand, asphalt, in or under wood flooring, or behind wallboard or plaster. It doesn't have any information whether or not to place in the sun to straighten.

AnswerThis pipe cannot be used with expandable connectors. This pipe is for use with PEX-B fittings only and the fittings must be secured to the pipe via a pinch clamp or crimp ring. However, the PEX-A version of this pipe coil is also available. The Apollo model number is EPPW3001, Internet #302740672, Store SKU #1003276347, Store SO SKU #1002659110.
Can this be used for a water main? Can you conect from water meter to house?

The 100’ roll of as a little unwieldy to run in my attic, but the final product was better than having to join lengths of pvc. The press-on connectors are a little pricey, but I only had to use them at each end to mate with the existing copper and that was a breeze.

Old PVC pipe easily broken at glue joints and kept leaking in cracked Texas gumbo soil when dry summer. Decided to go PEX 300ft rolls in 1in size. Took 1 day for contractor made new trench and installed go like a breeze. Take time to enroll with 2 men to avoid kinking. Job went smooth and fast without issue and shark-bite fitting were great. No leak on first time water turned on. Neighbors on their large lot (20 acres) used PEX for over 20 years and so hope mine last a long time as well. Would use this economical PEX again.

Over the years I've used copper and pvc for plumbing since pex is bendable I decided to give it a shot. It's by far the easiest to work with an cuts the installation time by 40% at least. I would highly recommend it. Your biggest cost is the crimping took spend a little extra here its well worth it.

I used Pex piping to hook up my new water heater. I also used SharkBite connectors. It was simple and easy. I did the entire job within 5 minutes. All that had to be done was snip and connect. No soder, no glue, just simply the easiest plumbing job I have ever experienced.
