A: Absolutely not! Safe food use would require a stainless steel shaft and non-reactive plastic blades. The shaft is not stainless and there's no telling what kind of plastic the offshore factory used to make this tool.

A: Yes, this can be connected to a drill. It is advised to use a variable speed drill to better control the mixing rate. Start out slow and bring it up to speed, but not too fast, in order to keep from making a mess by slinging the paint out of the paint can.

I had second thoughts that this mixer would be sturdy enough to mix one gallon of cold galvanizin...

I had second thoughts that this mixer would be sturdy enough to mix one gallon of cold galvanizing compound (93% zinc) as the zinc compound weighs near double to regular paint. This paint mixer worked great in mixing the thick galvanized compound. I hope to get much more use out of this mixer.

I have been using the 5 gallon mixer for the 1 gallon cans. Finally bought this one for my 1 gallon cans because im repainting my hole house and the 5 gallon makes a mess. Works great and mixes great. Easy to use. Low profile, fits in most tool boxes.

A Must Have For Any Left Over Paint

I got this for all my left over paint. This is a must have item. You can twirl it manually in hand for house paint, or decking sealer. I like that you can also take off the hanger part at the top and insert it into a power drill and swirl it that way too. It has come in handy so many times. No more shaking up cans manually!
