can these be used under metal roofing or should i go with the 1x4x96 board

Some type of furring strips are required if you plan to place a metal roof on top of existing shingles. Also, there are local codes allowing only 1 or 2 layers to be covered. They have plastic, wood and I have seen a pressed fiberboard. I am re-roofing with metal over one layer of 2 year old asphalt shingles atop plywood sheathing. I am using the 1 x 4 because we're subjected to severe sustained winds of 50-60 mph and have experienced 105 mph on rare occasion. I'm sure that many areas wouldn't require the additional width but I find it necessary.

Would this be a good item for bed support/framing? Can it be ordered in a smaller size than 8ft?

I would use a 1×3 and they can cut them to fit, all or most of the home Depot stores will cut for you, I would place them about 12" apart

Can you cut two 8 ft boards into thirds for me? To make 6 boards of the same length 32” each? And deliver to my home

Asked by Julie April 11, 2020

NO, YOU WILL LOSE 1/8 INCH PER CUT...YOU CAN STILL GET 3 BOARDS BUT THEY WILL BE ABOUT 1/8 INCH SHORTER. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY A 10 FOOTER AND HAVE LEFT OVER OR BUY 2_ 8 FOOTERS AND HAVE LEFT OVERS. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH DELIVERY IN YOUR AREA.

I use this for a lot of projects. I made a 7-panel screen wall with it to seclude a cat I recently adopted, so that he could have is own room (the house only has a loft). Next project: build a cabinet for my camp using furring strip.
