If ordered online, can this wood be cut in 12 inch pieces before I pick it up? Thanks!

It can, but it would be a far better thing for you to invest in an inexpensive miter saw and insure the cuts are exactly what you need. Be aware that the width of the blade will cause the last piece on each board to be shorter than the rest.
I purchased the 1x3s and 1x2s. Most of the stock had some warp/bow. I found enough super-straight pieces for my project. You might not be as picky as me. The wood was clear of knots, cracks and chips--so it's nice wood in that respect. And, the price is very reasonable. I would buy again.
Most of the boards were straight, with good grain pattern. I bought them to use for building doors for my newly refinished cabinets. I did find a couple of the boards to have one end milled wrong: the end was tapered slightly along the last 10-12 inches. I had bought enough extra that I was able to work around the problem. But it did frustrate me some that I had not inspected each board properly at the store.
