I have not experience using this on sub freezing temperatures. This material's primary composition is melted compressed plastic it should withstand sub freezing temperatures provided it is left in place.

This is not a question, but I totally agree. There is no easy way to get these home without a truck but they don't coil well at all. I could barely bend them enough to get them in my son's pickup that I had to borrow.
If you can find a way to store it for a few days by suspending it from the middle of the board, the two ends will naturally sag and should make bending easier.
That might be a little tough. They do not bend very well. You would need a lot of stakes to hold it in place.
