Questions & Answers

Can I use for bed slats for a full bed

Asked by: Sheryl
I don't agree with using these as bed support. You may end up with sagging. unless a child is using the bed- I think hardwood would be a better option, its more money but will hold up longer. I know 'whitewood' is different species but here in the northeast its usually pine that doesn't hold up well over spans, I'm not sure if in other areas you may get spruce that has better bending strength and would still be whitewood.

How many of these would it take to do a 12x16 foot porch

Asked by: Huffy
Well basic math would indicate about 64 are needed for that area, but you'd probably want to consider something pressure treated if they are being used outside. Common deck boards are the way to go. https://www.homedepot.com/p/WeatherShield-5-4-in-x-6-in-x-12-ft-Ground-Contact-Pressure-Treated-Premium-Pine-Decking-Board-253944/206967716

Is this whitewood good for floors?

Asked by: Sofi
No it is soft pine. You need hardwood like oak or maple which is more expensive

Was disapointed in wood because there were staples all along the sides of the wood and felt marker lines on the wood. I know the wholesellers do this to the wood . I had to two really beautiful pieces of wood ruined by staples and felt marker lines. Mark on the ends not the sides of the wood!

It took some time to find some more, about ten more, in a different location but they were left over, very poor quality. The counter doesn't know when you will have new shipment.
