Would this be possible for use as baseboards? In bathroom - should we seal for additional water repellancy?

Have very simple baseboards in most rooms. Not sure what they are but looking to match them. They appear to be 3/4 inch this and 6.5 inches tall.

Whatever specific application that you want to preform I recommend it for practical reasons: It issmooth enough on both sides to accommodate a good looking outcome for any job. Wheather you are using stain or basic paint; it will respond well to any primer for is absorbing qualities You don't really need to go crazy with the brush, this wood is like concrete in the sense of the word. It's very noble. It will respond well to any treatment. Do make sure that you pick a good good planks so that if you end up laying down some stain that it will look just the way you would want to. Here's anither hint. When you want to do some stain do a little side of the plank and this way you'll know how much stuff to lay down. IOW if the wood seems to get too dark at an early time then just lay off the stuff into a more lighter shade. You'll get my drift. Mistakes are un unavoidable but they are a good learning lessons when it comes to working with specific wood types and finishes

As always it depends on what you need the wood for, I always pick through the pile carefully to get the flattest and straightest boards I can find and normally don't have a lot of problems doing that. This trip I was buying pine to make a pine bed with a large headboard. I needed 14 of these boards and I needed them flat. I went through a lot of boards to find 14 flat ones. Took them home with the other 30 other boards I bought and stored them in my shop for a week. Out of the 14 of these, two of them twisted during the week bad, none of the rest of the lumber had any twisting. For most things I think the boards would of been ok and I can even as bad as they are find a use for them, but for this bed, I'm on my way to the store to get a couple more boards. Price is right and the boards will stain nicely.

I have to spend an extraordinary amount of time picking out board to find the ones that are at least fairly straight. Many are even warped along the wide side and couldn't be of use to anyone. I realize that you can only put out what you get and it is banded when it comes in and it is terribly humid here in the South but the number of boards I have to go through is terrible. In my business, I use primarily 1x and this problem is not limited to the 1x6. The smaller 1x4 and 1x3 are even worse.

I recently broke my leg in my garage and thankfully this board was nearby, and I made an emergency spint for my leg. As soon as I can walk, I will be back at Home Depot to buy another board. This is not premium wood full of knots not very good for custom work, you’re prices are too high I’m going to have to start driving further to get to a real lumber yard. You think you’re cedar must be something special to charge almost as much as you do for oak. The cedar is ruff used for form board

I'm going around windows making them cabin/Western look so I wanted knots to be tight & with no bark. Also no porch pickets or crackes. For the price I wanted an excellent product.
