Questions & Answers

I'm short one box to finish my kitchen in this and it isn't stock in any stores that I can find and now it's out of stock online.

Is there anyway I can order another box of this or have it shipped from a store that has it in stock?
Asked by: Jeremy
Home Depot in Danbury still has it as of October 2016.

can this barnwood be used on exteriors

Asked by: signjerk
I've sold building materials for 20 years and would be leery of a 5/8" exterior wood siding, unless it was traditional lap, at least in my area of Virginia. Teton-Windswept make a 3/4" net product used for exterior siding, as well as a 1/2" thickness that matches most interior drywall (5/8" interior would offset most trim around this area)

If I cut this board, will the ends be grey or natural pine?

Hi. I'm working on a diy shelving project and would like to use this color and style. I thought this might work nicely but I need 4 ft long shelves. If I cut these in half, would the ends then be a different color? If so, is there a stain I can use that will match this color? Thanks.

There is a sticker on each board that gives you the Behr Paint codes to touch-up

Thickness of product

On your specs you list the product as being 1" thick. Is this really 1" or is it really 3/4" of an inch?
Asked by: RobLA
It's 5/8" thick. Traditional drywall is 1/2" thick.

1 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft. Barn Grey #2 and Better Pine Windswept Shiplap Barn Wood Board (7-Piece/Box) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great farmhouse look at a reasonable price I couldn't be more pleased with this product. As a weekend project, our family installed the shiplap on 2 walls - entry wall & family room wall. They both look amazing & I get compliments from everyone who sees it. Rather than use full planks, we cut them to create a staggered look. We laid it all out, to be sure no joints lined up, then went into action. With a little bit of glue on the back, each plank was put in place. We rented a nail gun from Home Depot to finish it off, to be sure it stays in place. The nails were placed in the 'tongue' so you can't even see them, as you add on the next plank. The product was easy to work with. Out of 8 boxes purchased, we only had slight warping on 3 planks, which we cut into 2ft pieces and basically eliminated the warp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing Product First of all, my wife and I are not 'handy' people so with that being said, we were able to install this product without issue. We borrowed a 12" miter saw (100 tooth fine wood blade) and used my finishing nailer to install it (basic finishing nails). We mapped out the studs prior to installation and from there everything went smoothly. The boards are straight which made the job easy. The cuts around outlets were done with a jig saw and the wood isn't very dense so that was smooth too. We used 60% grey and 40% brown and like others said, the grey minwax if you need to touch up the cut ends. In 4 hours we covered a 9ft x 8ft wall. It completely changed the room and I'll let the photos speak for themselves :)

I had never installed anything like this before so I did a bit of research before doing my entire porch. It was easy to work with and looks absolutely amazing. Lightly sand each piece first for a nice smooth naturally worn grey finish. Beautiful!
