The board was warped and had markings on it from...
The board was warped and had markings on it from shipping straps. This is common with boards in general and this is just a reminder that picking out a good straight unmarked piece is probably best done oneself.

After applying a light stain to the board and drying...
After applying a light stain to the board and drying over night it was warped so bad I could not use it. Not sure what the reason was but the board was perfect before applying the stain.

I get that dimensional lumber is NEVER as advertised, but this was a full 1" short on width. I had planned for at least 7.25, so I have a little gap left. Disappointing.
