The pictures show that pined has a bluer color but when I read, it states that oaked provides a bluer color ... which is it?

I have used both and was also told that "pined" gave a blue color. It does not. The "oaked" gives a nice blue-gray tone, at least to the pinewood floors and trim I have used it on. I've stopped relying on website images as they are always misleading.

Yes, our aging washes work on hemlock! Hemlock color results will be similar to pine. The aging wash recommendation depends on the end color you're trying to achieve. Absolutely! Our topcoats will hold the colors just as you see them. Other brands tend to darken, so make sure you work up a test swatch of you're using a different brand's topcoat.

I recommend to work on a very well ventilated area cause the odor is a little bit overwhelming. This stain really gifts a gray-bluish color. Be advice that the more coats you apply the darker it will get. I like the fact it is water based so I can safely wash and reuse the brushes. I used it on oak and pine woods. I then finish it with Weather Wash Satin Varnish with a hint of metallic paint.

The results are always just brownish and smudgy. Using multiple coats or light coats, applying with brush or a swiping rag have not helped. The "oaked" product gives a nice blue-gray color on pine. I would recommend the "oaked" for that weathered barn look.

I tried everything to get my wood to look like this and nothing matched what I wanted. Then I tried this last week and it is the real deal. Be sure to wipe off your piece of wood and lightly sand first as it makes a world of a difference on penetrating and color hue. One coat and you will be impressed.
