2.25 Gal. Holly Sky Pencil Shrub

Great plant, healthy

Bought & planted 5 of these mid-summer last year. Spring is here; they are dead. No issues with the other 100's of trees and shrubs that went in. Not a single one of these made it.

I ordered the 2.25 gallon and the plants that I received were about 20 inches tall. I previously ordered 2 quart ones from a different vendor and it was about the same size for half the price. I was expecting these to be taller for what I paid. However, they are thicker than the other ones. I’m sure they were cut in order to fit inside the box. One was brown on the bottom with lots of white dots. Not sure if it has an infection or it’s this is normal for this shrub.

Bought 3 to see how they looked. Exceeded expecations and will be ordering 22 more. Lots of reviews about the size. Not sure what you were expecting foe $30 a plant

I paid basically $100. A piece for these sky pencils via online so I could get the same 7 gallon I purchased in the store. They instead sent me, I believe, the small 2 gallon plant in the 7 gallon container and charged the 7 gallon price. I was shocked when I opened the large boxes! I could have gotten a larger 2 gallon in the store for $25.00. It’s been over a month and I still get upset every time I see them in my backyard!

I ordered the larger size thinking I would get a larger plant than the one gallon pot. The plants came well-packaged and quickly, but I was dissappointed that they were only 12” tall and half as wide (plant height, not including the pot). The soil is loose and the roots are not well developed for this size of pot. I will be returning these as they are only worth half the price paid.

Why offer a 7 gallon plant if you are going to cut it in half to ship it?? 1 gallon plants at the nursery were 2 ft tall and this 7 gallon is barely 2ft tall. Returning.

Depot offered these hollies at three different price points: $17.99, $19.99 and $27.99. I purchased the $27.99, expecting them to be fairly large, vs. the less expensive options. Prior reviews stated that these arrived at 28-30 inches in height. The shrubs I received were barely 13-14 inches; the plants were barely taller than the pots they arrived in and not as pictured in Home Depot's listing. Had I ordered the $17.99 version, would I have received seedlings? Overall, not too satisfied with the order. I give the rating a second star because the plants arrived on-time, healthy and packaged well.

I specifically bought 4 of these based on reviews inficating they were a nice size. I declined to buy locally because everything was too small. Plants arrived in great shape but only 30” tall. I could have bought a slightly larger size locally for half yhe price. Very disappointed. Way too small for the price
