Product Overview

Dwarf Burford Holly is a classic choice for foundation and hedge planting. Burford has small deep green glossy leaves and develops ornamental red berries in fall. Burford is easily maintained once established and pruning to maintain shape should occur in early spring before new growth begins to appear.
  • Red berries during the fall
  • Attracts birds
  • Dense growth habit makes for a perfect hedge plant. Space 36 inches from the center of the plant to the center of the next plant for a dense hedge
  • Water thoroughly twice per week until established, then water once per week
  • Fertilize every spring with slow-release fertilizer
  • Winter hardy in USDA zones 6-9
  • Grows best in full to part sun

I bought four of these containers and planted them in one of our flower beds. Watering, soil and sun conditions were the same for all plants. Only one of the plants survived. The other three failed to flourish.

I was afraid to order live plants on line but after searching several garden centers I could not find dwarf burford holly bushes so I took the chance knowing that I could return them to my local store. I ordered six plants they came well packaged and very healthy.
