Product Overview

The Italian Cypress has a timelessly elegant appearance in any landscape. Watch as they reach for the stars with a naturally narrow, columnar shape. Dense foliage makes this a fantastic screen variety, ideal for sealing out noise, wind, and prying eyes. At maturity, this privacy tree reaches 40 ft. to 50 ft. Tall and 5 ft. W to 6 ft. W. However, if you have a specific height in mind, simply trim the top of the tree once it reaches that size. In the best possible growing conditions, this fast-growing tree is capable of growing 3 ft. in a single year. In average conditions, it tends to grow 1 ft. to 2 ft. Annually. It grows from USDA Zones 7 zone to 11 zone and requires little maintenance once established. Be sure to plant this Cypress in Full Sun for proper growth and plant health. Additionally, water your new plant 2-times to 3-times per week during the first growing season. Provide more water in times of extreme heat/dryness. These Italian Cypress are grown in a 2.5 qt. (trade gallon) pot and are fully rooted. They will be between 12 in. and 24 in. Tall upon arrival.

How deep do you plant them

Plant them so that the top of the soil from the potted plant is even with the surrounding soil. Ensure that the hole you dig is at least twice the width of the pot in which the cypress arrived and the soil is well-draining. You should dig the hole at least 6 inches deeper than the pot's depth and back fill the hole with fresh "tree and shrub" soil for best results. Plant them as soon as possible and keep them moist until you get them in the ground.

They were about 3 feet tall and they looked like twins. Believe they match sizes if multiple trees are going to the same address, but not sure. You can always trim them so they grow evenly...

Approximately 1 gallon (US).

Have anyone try to grow this plant in zone 5? Love this cypress but I lived in PA.

Although cypress trees are native to southern regions, they're adaptable in many climates. Hardy in USDA plant hardiness zones 4 through 10, cypress trees can be found as far north as southern Canada. I would not recommend this Italian cypress though, maybe a Leyland one?

So far, so good. I received 8 healthy plants and they've been in the ground for over a month now (zone 7). They look good and I'm watering them a few times a week when the rain doesn't show up. As recommended by professionals, I planted them using "tree and shrub" planting soil that had fertilizer in it.

Nicely packed, healthy on arrival, on the small side and waiting to see if they take and in a year or two will be able to give a better review. Seem healthy right now but really can't tell if any growth has taken place yet.
