It snaps at the connection with the slightest pressure and after a few minutes of use. We'll replace with a new brush, only to have it happen again shortly after. We're not putting a lot of force on it at all, it is just shoddy construction, probably due to cost-cutting. Other brands we've used can put up with cleaning and a couple of re-uses. This one is not even suitable for one-time use for quick projects, breaks WAY too quickly. HOME DEPOT—PLEASE CHANGE YOUR SUPPLIER. This product is a complete joke with its terrible quality and therefore USELESS.

It works well for us because it is inexpensive and we can throw it out at the end of a project.. It also works for multiple paint sessions by puting it in a zipLock bag to prevent paint from drying..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little Foam Miracles I really wish I would have used a foam brush when I started refinishing my cabinets. I was a big believer in the expensive, natural bristle brushes like Purdys, etc. After applying the paint and one coat of ploy with bristles, I switched over to a .77-cent foam brush for the final coat of satin Minwax. It was LIKE GLASS. Why had I wasted my time cleaning with mineral spirits, soap and water only to buy more brushes?! These foam miracles deserve more credit. The only tip worth sharing is to keep your dipping on the light side.. the amount of liquid a foam brush holds is far more than a bristle brush- helps to avoid drips. Best part about this product? If the application is water-based, wash it in .2 seconds under a warm faucet, dry it out and it's good as new! If it's oil-based - throw em' out after each coat without feeling like you've killed a horse tail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Try 'em - you'll LOVE 'em! These foam brushes are the greatest! From using latex, stains and (oil-based) polyurethanes . . . they are great! Never in the years I have used them have I ever had one fall apart. However, if you’re applying varathane, polyurethanes or varnish, you need to keep a modicum of product on the brush for a good ‘flow’—otherwise—the brush will begin to stick and in the process of ‘dragging’ the brush—the ‘stick’ the foam is adhered to will begin to poke through the foam. Also (like paint brushes) if you’re not quite through with your project but need to quit for a while; laying the brush on a piece of foil (including only about an inch or two of the handle) and tightly rolling it several times and then folding over the top edge a couple of times and then (carefully) twisting and pressing the foil around the bottom of the brush and the extended handle—the brush will remain usable for (about) up to two or three days. Note: One day I couldn’t find my basting brush and had a chicken on the rotisserie so I used one of the smaller brushes for the job–worked great. ;)

As soon as they get wet with paint the hard plastic core start poking through the flimsy foam and scraping against your project. The foam head wobbles on the handle and feels unstable. Home Depot should look into offering better-quality options in addition to this cheap junk. I would have gladly paid more for a decent foam brush, but they don't sell them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zero Cleanup Required I use these brushes for all my poly and stain applications. It's so nice not to bother with cleanup when applying anything oil-based! Plus, they wash out much more quickly than a bristle brush if you're using a water based paint/primer/poly. I've never had any issue with these brushes leaving bits of foam behind in whatever I'm applying either. The reason I took a star off is because the brushes do need a little more internal support when applying thick materials like pond liner epoxy. I found that I needed to brace the back of the brush with a gloved finger during my last project, after the foam had become saturated and heavy.
