Can I get this board cut evenly in half before I pick it up?

Answer

If your going to order it ahead, you'd better call first; I'm not sure if they pre-cut lumber orders. Otherwise, they will be glad to cut whatever you want when you pick it up.

Not sure of your intended purpose in a bathroom but if it's going to be exposed, you might want to try a better grade

I bought this board so I could drive a wheelbarrow across it over some large rocks. It performed admirably: it never complained, never let the wheelbarrow fall off either side, and was readily washed once we were done carting dirt over it. It was the finest of rock-ramps, and I regret only that its time with us must end.

Poor quality lumber Yes it is #2 lumber and for a 2X10 it is really hard to get wood that does not include the heartwood and yes, I didn't select the boards myself but used curbside pickup. So I will admit that I might have been able to mitigate the poor quality of the wood by selecting the boards myself and perhaps buying #1 wood elsewhere. That being said the problems I had with the two boards I purchased were: - There were about 30 staples in each board (along the edges and on the ends); took me 20 min to pull all of them out. - The faces of each board had significant scars from poor handling - Both boards came a little twisted with some heartwood twist. Both boards twisted significantly about the heartwood after I ripped an inch of the width of the board. They had not been sufficiently dried. Again, I didn't pick the boards myself and thank the team for getting them for me for curbside pickup but they were very very poor quality. Ok for some structural work (that will be covered up) but terrible for what I was building.

Home depot lumber seems to go down in quality every time I buy. I am a frequent customer and it would be nice to see quality lumber i don’t have to dig through to find some decent lumber.
