Where can I buy the caps mentioned in the product description?

The cedar is coated with caps at each end upon delivery. The idea if cutting the lumber to required size for a unique project, is to take the caps off and cut through the poli-plastic. I suppose if you were thinking of using the original 2x6 or 4x4 with the shipment preserved coating, all I can say is I've used the caps as of indraw compartments organizing nuts and bolts; screws and nails. If you get my drift, I purchased the cedar to rip saw it into a project dimension. thus believing the cedar although coated was to preserve it from the saw mill to the outlet purchaser.

We decided to try these boards for constructing raised planter beds for a vegetable garden. There are some advantages and disadvantages to this product. While the polymer coating appears to provide considerable protection for the wood from water, bugs and rot, the additional coating makes the boards thicker, so they won't fit into brackets intended for 1-1/2" thick lumber. The polymer seems to make the boards a bit stronger and more rigid, but it does not entirely prevent twisting or warping. About 10%-15% of the boards showed noticeable twisting. Fortunately, we needed some shorter pieces and were able to use the twisted boards for those purposes. As others have remarked, the end caps are pretty cheesy. The adhesive is not very good, and the caps are useless if you need to fit the boards into brackets or have boards smoothly abut. We could not use the end caps in most cases and ended up pressing the ends into a bed of exterior caulking or construction adhesive. When we could use the end caps, we removed the original rubber cement and glued them on with construction adhesive. Last time we did this, we used pressure treated lumber, but even that rots out after 20 years. We'll see how this lasts.

I thought the polymer was actually bonded to the wood. Turns out it is a sleeve not even cut to the the length of the boards. Took the end caps off and the sleeve wasn’t even straight. The end caps would not fit all the way on. The are ripples in the polymer, too. Not great when using for a table. Probably just get regular 2x6 next time. Not worth the price.
