has 5 angle markings. Very nice level with easy to see/read markings. The multiple angle references make setting slope, easy. The level has 5 separate vials and leave no question as to the ZERO, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 slope. Minimum length is rock solid. Stays square and straight. The level has flat and plumb level. One improvement would be to have level (zero) at both ends of the level. An excellent tool.

This is fantastic if you ever wondered just what was the gradient measurement of a slope in your driveway, or a low spot in your concrete. This level has four bubble windows corresponding to different slope percentages, from 0.5% to 2.0%. Just find where the bubble is centrered and you can read the percentage of slope. It also has a quick referrence table next to the bubble that has the measureents for the applicable Gradient, Ratio, and Pitch (in both SAE and Metric).

I was able to double-check a few places around the house with this. Our garage was at a 2% downhill gradient, as per specifications. In our laundry room, the slope measured between 1 and 2 percent slope, making it 1.5 (for the drain). Other places were mostly level at 0 or .5 degrees (making it a 1/16th inch tolerance within 2 feet in this case). Like most levels, it has a machined bottom but also has gradient indication on top (to avoid confusion). It is just as accurate as any of them. Everyone knows it's VERY BAD to drop a level, but with these extra-thick shockproof vials, they are certain to take MUCH more abuse than the typical level. Being mostly used for ground-level work, one should not have that problem however and therefore I do not see the necessity. Of course, this is a great general level for checking all sorts of things. For example, if your dial lines up at 1%, then you know you are about an eight-inch off; two, at a quarter-inch. Nonetheless, the vials do come with a lifetime warranty, in case you do somehow find a way to break one of them. There is an ugly sticker on this but fortunately it comes off easily (if you care about looks). The end caps do come off, but are made of a polymer. -Perhaps this material stands up better against shock? I'll leave that one to the engineers. This is the perfect level for concrete work, tile placement, pavers, and other projects where maintaining slope is a must. The level states an exact measurement of .57 degrees, 1:100 ratio, ~1/8"/ft, and 10mm/M at 1 % slope and 1.15 degrees, 1:50 ratio, ~1/4"/ft, and 20mm/M at a 2% slope, respectively.

Helps keep the rain out of your house,,,A gradient level will help you do that... This Gradient Level is designed specifically for this purpose and is easy to use. Its three vials are each calibrated at a different percent 0%,(Flat Level) 1.0% and 2.0%. I took my label maker and marked them on both sides of the level just to make sure I was using the right vial.. Depending on the slope you require is the vial you read so slopes are accurate, fast and easy to check. whether your doing plumbing or concrete work This is a great tool for DIYers as it assures you from making mistakes, ie: if your installing a sidewalk along the side of your home this will make sure your pitch is correctly away from the house helping to keep rain out as it will be rolling down the slope ... Its solid and well made and machined nicely with heavy nylon bumpers on each end. And sold at a price that makes it well worth the investment..

Kapro's Top Grade Gradient Level was designed specifically for accurate setting up of concrete forms. The Kaypro level has three level windows one for level a second window marked for 1percent grade and the third window marked for a two percent grade slope. This allows for fast and accurate grade leveling to prevent water ponding. The level is only two feet and will help is smaller areas such as steps or short corner and turns. Th Kaypro Gradient level is also excellent for quick assessments or help setting up rigid drain pipe and also would be good for even plumbing drain lines. Many tile contractors could benefit from this tool in that with the smooth bottom would be excellent for use in setting up correct grades for shower tiled floors. This level is guaranteed for life and guaranteed to be accurate within .0005 on all vial windows. The level has four vials also a Horizontal vial.

I’m a DIY and find this tool handy for rough plumbing of drain pipe. Although I’ve not used it for such, it seems it would also useful for general grading of hard surfaces in narrow areas like walkways. No fancy measurements or calculations are required to get the right drain slope with this tool, just place this level between your two vertical drain connections until the bubble inside the 2% level is located between the two center lines, and mark the intersecting plane for the horizontal drain pipe. It couldn’t be easier, and the 2-foot level length accommodates stand-alone use in many close-quarter connections (or you can place it on a longer straight pipe or flat board to accommodate longer distance measures). It’s a versatile tool, with three horizontal bubbles to support measuring slopes of 0% (for a flat surface/general use), 1% (for walkways/grading) and 2% (for plumbing drain pipe), as well as one conventional 0% vertical bubble for standard plumb measures. I like the: 1. painted aluminum body, 2. hard plastic ends that provide durable protection against low level accidental falls, 3. holes built-in to the plastic ends, on which to hang the level, 4. shiny (unpainted) aluminum underside that can be more easily cleaned of debris (mortar/cement/glue), and 5. the bubbles which are large and visible from 3 directions, each clearly marked as to their slope. The only criticism I have, is that I wish that in lieu of the 1% slope, that a 4% slope bubble was provided instead since I do more work installing shower/bath floors (typical 4% slope) than I do general grading. It would seem to make more sense to combine the two slopes that are commonly used for plumbing work. Overall, this is a well-made instrument, that I would recommend to a friend.

This is a very interesting product. The kind of tool that you didn't know you needed until you have it. At first glance it is just a level. A well made one. But you'll notice the 3 bubble vials don't match. They are intended to show you how much out of level the measured surface is. This is great for making sure there is enough fall in a plumbing drain line- the 2% bubble will show like it's level when there is exactly 1/4" per foot fall. But I found you must school your friends. A fellow chippy grabbed it while we were installing a door jamb and was bewildered...what is going on here? But once you understand what it is for it will make your work more perfected. It is well constructed out of extruded aluminum with one side milled for flatness. I checked again my shop standards and found it had about a .002 bow in the center. Tiny and more than flat enough for what it was intend for. It is small enough to throw into the tool bag. Not heavy but feels sturdy and won't easily deflect. I would have liked the vials to be marked so you can view which one is which (0,1,2%) from any side. They currently are printed on only on one side, which can add to confusion. This ones a keeper and I'll keep my masonry friends away from it so it lasts.
