A:  I dont know if it holds 216 or 246. I have two of them. You really have to try hard to fill up one. They are adjustable in size at set up. They hold about 3 buckets of material from my tractor when fully expanded.

A:  Its a typo on Home Depots titling of the product on their website. I have purchased directly from Geobin. Its 216 Gallons. Still a good size.

A:  contact geobin, use landscape fabric staples, washers/screw/nut, or baling twine.

        by|May 7, 2023

A:  Use tie wraps. That what I use on my 2 Geobins.

          by|Aug 2, 2022

A:  I'm not sure if you can order replacement keys, but if I were in you position I would try and use large Zip ties as replacements.

A:  Tie together with wire or rope through the holes. Works just as well.

It is very good to hold dry leaves but not strong enough to hold mixed of materials for composting. It warps easily under the weight of the materials.
                Good for dry leaves.

Easy to set up and open for turning. Good air flow made for a nice, hot compost pile. I bought 2 and have already used one pile in my garden. The second will be spread around row crops.

This is my second one. Have been using the first one for 3 years with many more years to go. I mostly fill with leaves after each winter along with other compostable yard waste. I like that it doesn't have a fixed footprint. It is flexible to shape it in a column in a range of diameters or flex it into an oval or tear drop, etc.. I prop it against a fence and then against a stone garden border so it takes the rough shape of a tear drop. I open it so that it is double layered about 1/2 to 3/4 the way around which adds some stability but I also put a Tpost or 2 against the wall as needed. Some years, I spend more time in turning it over (at least the top half) which means I can harvest some finished compost in the late summer, then I rebuild the pile on top of the unfinished compost. Other years, I let it sit a full year with out much turning over. This year, after building the pile in both geobins, I topped with soil in some cardboard boxes to grow some greens, a container sized tomato and flowers on top of the pile. One geobin is in full view out of the back window so I draped it in burlap to soften from the stark black plastic look.

I don’t really understand this “product” - just a piece of plastic with holes and five “locks”. It wouldn’t even stand straight unless it’s full with compost material or reinforced with poles. It’s not convenient to get ready compost out. And it’s not durable or even hygienic - mine got chewed by some animal within days!

Easy to assemble though two people make it quicker. Holds plenty. We used zip ties to provide added stability including attaching it to shepard's hook that holds 2 bird feeders. This bin is so light weight it needs to be staked down in windy areas. My other compost bin has a lid, so I am anxious to see how this works. We placed the bin in an area that is crushed rock, so I put down a piece of professional landscape fabric to keep the rocks and compost separate.

Rolling it out is a little awkward, but it is large enough for all your shredded cardboard, lawn clippings, ect. I would recommend tying it to four tall garden stakes for stability in the wind. Also, it comes with 5 clips. I placed mine in every other hole. Make sure the stakes go on the outside for ease of flipping. I as well, plan on using a pitchfork to turn due to the height, but I'd rather it be big enough and compact than take up more than a 3-4 foot cube. Packaging was very easy and the assembly is very simple; clip it to desired width. I recommend having one person assist in holding it while you clip it. Plastic is pretty thick and very durable.

Just what I needed. Instead of laying flat as the manufacturer video suggests, I uses 1 small toggle to connect one end to the top of a dining room chair and a 2nd toggle to connect that same end to the bottom of the chair. Then I unwrapped the Geobin around the perimeter of the chair and inserted the "keys." Think that is much easier than the suggested method. Then I carried the bin outside. I keep these toggles on hand to secure wrapped cords, but you can make one using a rubber band and piece of stick, key, bolt. FYI I'm woman over 70 and did this by myself in less than 5 minutes.
