If the partical board is indented, can a wood filler be used before the banding is put on to hide this mistake?
Asked by: Linda
Yes, as long as the filler is fully cured per its instructions and has finished outgassing. Would not be advisable to have this tape bridge over a good-sized dent, it's too brittle, would crack under an impact or load at the void.

This site says the product is 3/4 in wide - but, in the store, the rolls are 13/16 in. I would like to have 3/4 inch, since I have 3/4 in. melamine boards and I would like to not have to trim the tape 1/16 in. SO IS THERE 3/4 INCH TAPE AVAILABLE, OR IS IT ONLY AVAILABLE IN 13/16 INCH WIDTH?
Asked by: Panzer
The 13/16" allows for the slight tolerance in the construction of the 3/4" shelf. That is to say, that a 3/4" shelf might actually be somewhere between 11/16" and 13/16". They give you an edge tape width on the high end so that you always have too much, rather than too little. If your actual piece of shelf happens to be closer to 13/16", then you may be golden, bot otherwise you'll have to trim a little. It's very easy.

I am planning to cover pre-applied pink edge banding on a bunk bed to convert for a boy's room. Can I put this on over the top of the existing edge banding?
Asked by: Notsohandy
Not likely, if it's a plastic banding. You can always try a section and see how it bonds, but it might be better to paint it, using a paint that will adhere to the edging.

3/4 in. x 25 ft. White Iron On Edge Tape is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and efficient I repainted our kitchen cabinets and needed to either paint or resurface the front edges of all the cabinet faces. I didn't think that painting would be durable enough on the existing melamine faces, so I bought 300' of this edge banding. Installation couldn't have been easier. I cleaned the edge with a cleaner/degreaser and scuffed the existing melamine banding, so the adhesive would bite better. Turned the iron just shy of the highest setting, and ironed it right on. Easy to cut, easy to apply. I didn't use anything over the banding to protect the iron, so I had to make sure if any adhesive transferred that I wiped it off right away. Cabinets look great, and the banding blends in perfectly.

I purchased the roller to help with the adhesion process and using the trimming tool after it’s glued is key. It doesn’t hurt to go back with the iron to reheat any loose edges.
