does this straw contain any weed seeds? heard some do and I don't want any on my new lawn. Thanks

No, straw is the lower half of the grass. Hay contains the upper half of the harvest grass which has seeds. Straw will break down over a couple of weeks and doesn't need to be raked up. Look into straw bale gardens. Neat stuff

The 3 cu. ft. refers to the coverage stated in the specification when placed on site @ 3" thick. This means it will cover a 3 ft. x 4 ft. x 3" thick area (3 cu. ft.) If placed 6" thick it will only cover half that area. Another way to look at this in calculating what you need is 3' x 4'=12 sq. ft. of surface area. So you can divide the total area(s) by 12 sq. ft. and get the total bales needed if placed 3" thick plus fudge factor for margin of error.

Poor quality
Purchased 20 bales, and the quality was terrible. Lots of sticks, and must have been on the trailer for a couple of years. It was starting to rot.

I've been purchasing a majority of landscape supplies for my new rental property from the local Home Depot. My recent purchase of 2 bales of pine straw was met with regret. The associate entered the trailer which holds the pine straw and returned with 2 bales that looked decent. But, when I started to spread the pine straw, quickly I noticed the abundance of trash, sticks, wood chips, and branches. I ended up having a full 5 gallon bucket full of debris. I was extremely disappointed with this product and in retrospect, I should of read the reviews and went to the small mom and pop landscape supply to purchase a quality product.

Awful, couldn’t get much worse, tried using this last year, hoped they had improved it, they didn’t. Have been a Home Depot customer since they first opened in Atlanta, now in Destin. Obviously I am not the only one who found this product unsatisfactory. Where is your quality control, why would you put such an awful product on the market in your stores?

Terrible
The pine straw at HD and Lowe's has to be left overs or from a 3rd rate supplier. VERY loosely baled, full of trash, sticks, pine cones and some even molded. Not to mention overpriced. It takes about 3 bales of this trash to equal 1 bale from a quality supplier. Will never ever buy again. Wish there was a good local supplier.

Go somewhere else
I paid for the 6 bales needed to complete my yard knowing they didn't lookgood from the outside. I was just ready to be done. The company I buy from was closed. I tried home Depot. Like I said the bales looked bad from the outside and was worst on the inside. Too much trash and sticks. Go somewhere else.

We have shopped the Scottsboro store going on 10 years. Great store team, but very disappointed with pine straw purchased on 2.25.17. Very poor quality, would not purchase again. As a courtesy, phoned store customer service and shared my displeasure with product. It looked old and worn when installed. Waste of money and time. Might want to consider changing suppliers?

Horrible
Complete trash. Full of cones sticks and other debris. It worked as a winter time light coat. But would not have not worked at all replenishing in the spring.
