Are these doors actually white?

can i cut 2 inches off the lenght off this door

Asked by: mine203
I've cut at least a half dozen of these doors beyond the wood spacer at the top and bottom. Take the cut off and pry the faux wood covering from the solid spacer, apply some wood glue to the hollow inside of the door, then gently tap the spacer back into the top or bottom. To maintain proportions, you might consider trimming equal amounts off both the to and bottom.

Can I use this as a bedroom door?

Asked by: Jcbelle
Sure, but you'll have to figure out a way to lock them if that's something you'll want.

My opening is exactly 59 1/2 inches wide. Will 30 inch wide doors work or not?

Asked by: ghr90
MAYBE! .. If you read the specifications...there is a tolerance for trimming the door "down". Do not exceed this! Sometimes it might require trimming both sides of the door. "This is not a job for a beginner" as there are issues (i.e.) having to redo the top and bottom holes if using a track mount, and also having the decorative panels looking symmetrical. Ugly splintering of the finished sides (the sides everyone sees) will also most likely occur unless an experienced craftsman knowledgeable in how to avoid this uses the proper precautions.

30 in. x 80 in. Colonial Primed Textured Molded Composite MDF Closet Bi-fold Door is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 54.

I have purchased a few of these doors and some are warped right out of the package. There have been stripped screws in the hinges right out of the package. I have cut these doors to fit shorter openings. Ripped 2x stock to 1 1/16th" x 13", glued the edges of the ripped stock, then pinned the ends with 3 2" trim nails (pneumatic). Drill 3/8" holes to receive pins and roller. For another few cents per door the manufacturer can put a wider rail on the bottom to make the door easily shortened rather than passing that work on to the contractor. I gave this 3 stars because today's average is yesterday's poor. I am getting used to inferior products.

Bought custom size door because I have a floor-to-ceiling installation I was replacing. The custom fit was great, and they came in a timely manner. However, these doors don't use a bottom track at all, it only has a track and roller at the top. Due to the weight of the door, it continues to sag away from the hinge no matter how tight the screws are. Every day I have to push the hinge slider back into place or re-adjust the door when it pops out of the upper track. Such a simple thing they skimped out on would have made this door great. Instead, it's more trouble than it's worth, and I wish I never replaced the original door (with top and bottom track).

These doors literally fell apart during installation. I did not have to cut the door so there is no question about reducing the integrity of the door, it was junk to begin with. When installing the pivot pins, the door caved in on itself. Poor materials (compressed paper and wood by products and glue with a fake wood veneer) and poor workmanship (not enough adhesive to hold the paper and veneer together) make this a door to avoid at all costs. JELD WEN should be shamed for putting their name on a piece of garbage like this. I will never recommend these doors to my customers and will avoid them in the future. There is nothing worse than spending over $50.00 on a door only to have it self destruct when you try to install it.

However, due to the weight of the door, it continues to sag away from the hinge no matter how tight the screws are. It is a design flaw and hope Jeldwen can have a better hardware designed. I have to push the hinge slider back into place or re-adjust the door when it pops out of the upper track. I can't tighten the screw enough to keep it from falling. The door is heavy and moves the slider forward after a few times use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased with Purchase Before I installed the doors, I spray painted them with a very high quality eggshell white paint. Let the doors dry overnight and installed them the next day. Even though I am a 79-year old woman, I was able to install the doors by myself.(I have installed similar closet doors over the years.) It was difficult to level the doors once they were hung because they are very heavy. I love the way the doors look; they match my 6-panel bedroom doors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding and inexpensive update! I am in the process of updating all of the bifold doors in my condo. Reading previous reviews I was skeptical. I purchased this primed door, applied one coat of behr satin white paint, repainted the surrounding trim with gloss enamel. I was able to reuse the existing tracking so installation was a breeze! I am so satisfied with this result that I will be replacing all of the interior doors in my condo with these doors. The matching styles will also work when I replace the slab doors as well!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but beware of dimensions Easy to assemble, but I built the closet before I purchased the door. ONLINE the door dimensions state 30" x 80" and the directions state to build opening 1" wider than door so my opening is 31" x 81". ACTUAL door is 29" x 79". On the front of the box it states to make opening 30" x 80". Now I am frustrated with a 1" gap on sides and bottom. I don't have a problem with the doors themselves, just the difference in the online measurements and the actual measurements. FRUSTRATED!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR QUALITY Hardware broken out of pack, hinge missing screw and the other one fell out. Went to tap in bottom guide and the door peeled apart like a banana. High price low quality, if I did not already paint it, I would have returned it for my hard earn money. JELD-WEN should products should be pulled from the shelves. I bought three doors that day and only one of the three were ok.
