The lamp you have now sounds like Fluorescent - 6 in U bend T12. A T12 lamps have a diameter of 1 ½ inches, we offer an LED T8 U bend which is 1 inch in diameter. So yes ours should fit . The wattage is not an issue in this case, as far as watts our LED uses only 15W compared to 34W fluorescent. Please always use or refer to a license electrician for these types of installs.
No, this product can be used to replace T8 fluorescent bulbs.
No, this bulb is not dimmable.
No, this model requires a ballast.
Hello Ryan, For our U-bend LED tube it is a direct replacement plug and play. It does not require to remove the ballast.

Old style fluorescent lamps use a ballast to make a high voltage initially to make an arc. Magnetic ballast are among the old style ballast that typically will not work with LEDs. These LEDs need something like an instant start ballast. These ballast do not put out a high voltage to LED bulbs because the electricity flows and the ballast instantly "knows" that it does not need to make an arc with a high voltage. An arc is needed for fluorescent tubes to get the gas excited and conducting electricity. If you have a newer ballast it may be instant start. You can typically try these LED bulbs and if they don't light you might need to replace the ballast with an instant start ballast. The ballast is a part inside the light fixture. The wires on these ballasts are color coded so it is pretty straightforward to change the ballast if needed and Home Depot does sell them.
