I cut 1/2"w x 6" l chevrons and stuck them to both side running boards. When it rains or snows the plastic get slippery and causes my foot to slip. The abrasive surface of the tape should help a lot.
I cleaned the plastic with acetone and the Initial installation went well, I just hope they hold up from use - the adhesive seems to be really aggressive!!!!
It more then met my expectations!

I don't know why I didn't listen to my wife, and install these earlier. They are excellent!!! I installed these a few weeks ago, on marble stairs in an apartment building, and what a difference they made. I feel so much safer going down the stairs, and my tenants are extremely happy I cared enough about their safety, to install them. They are the right amount of thickness(which doesn't affect your throw) to give perfect grip, with a nice bright yellow strip that lends visibility to the edge of the stair. I wiped the surface with alcohol prior to laying them, and I have no doubt that 3M adhesive will be holding on for years to come. They have exceeded my expectations, so far. Highly, highly recommended!!!

I used this tape on a ramp (see pictures) and it works very well. It went on very easily, and the only thing that takes some practice is separating the backing from the tape. It is pricey, but what is the price of a fall? I highly recommend it.

Just what I was looking for...
I just repainted my porch stairs and remembered how slippery they get in rain and snow, so I searched around for a solution and found it at Home Depot with the 3m Safety Step Tape. It was easy to cut to length and apply, and being a landlord of a 3 family building, gives some piece of mind!
