Pro Grade Precision 4-1/2 in. x 10-1/2 ft. 220 Grit Fine Ultra Flexible Sanding Roll

I cane chairs .... most chairs come to me needing work before they are recaned. This wonderful sandpaper allows me to pull off the exact amount needed and curl it around a chair leg or spindle. It can be used wet or dry and the strong film backing helps prevent tears and rips. It comes in a 10.5 ft. X 4.5 roll and is 220 grit extra fine. Will I purchase again ..... YES!

This sandpaper is aggressive, durable, and very flexible. It works where other products won't, for example, in the little crevices of this spoon I'm carving.

I perform sanding task both with electric sanders and hand sanding. Trouble I have with hand sanding is finding a sanding material that is flexible to get into the details such as spindles on chairs. The other challenge is to have a sanding material that won't wrinkle or bunch up when working with it. The 3M Ultra Flexible sanding roll has met these challenges plus it actually cuts/sands. Most material will sand or cut for a short while then either clogs or losses the ability to cut. The 3M Ultra Flexible sanding roll did not easily clog and continued to cut even on heavy sanding tasks. I typically use sanding sponges since I can get them to conform to varying surfaces however, they quickly loose the ability to cut in a short period of sanding so I usually wrap a cut regular sanding sheet around the sponge. It works but gets aggravating because the cut sanding sheet tends to wrinkle up. This does not happen with the 3M Ultra Flexible sanding material. In fact I prefer the 3M Ultra Flexible sanding material over the original material embedded on the sanding sponge. The 3M Ultra Flexible sanding material is very flexible; adhered on a near translucent plastic backing material - not paper. You can fold it but it doesn't really crease. I don't know if 3M Ultra Flexible is water resistant but I do know that the grit adheres extremely well to the backing. It comes on a roll to you just cut to the length you need. I fully intend to buy other grits of this 3M product and toss the paper backed stuff I've been using.

Compared to traditional sheets of sandpaper that utilize a paper backing, this roll of sanding sheets use a rubber-like material and the grit is bonded to the flexible material. This makes hand sanding so much easier. I appreciate the way the flexible material molds around your hand, finger or other sanding form. The cut-to-length sheets do last longer than traditional sandpaper. I really like the roll versus the standard sheets because I can cut the exact amount I need for any project and for my electric sanders. The only drawback I have is they didn't last much longer on my mini-sander because the backing tore long before the grit wore out. Otherwise it would have received 5 stars.

It's such a simple idea, but why didn't they make this sooner? It'll do my best to describe this stuff; it's like a thin rubberized cloth backing mated with an abrasive. It stretches a bit and you can crumple, bend, and manipulate it without it cracking or tearing. It really works great for finishing in tight spaces and rounded or uneven surfaces! It was ideal for following up a bowl and tray router bit on several small projects I've been working on. Worth noting you'll need a blade or scissors to cut this stuff, it doesn't rip.

It’s a bit hard to call this sandpaper anymore, because this isn’t paper backed at all. In fact, this is backed by a flexible membrane that makes this material more durable, more flexible, easier to work with and generally a better product than the traditional, paper backed alternatives. The width of the cut of the roll is perfect for use with palm sanders. Just unroll the amount you need and cut it to length. I used a pair of Fiskars shop shears to cut this paper. It doesn’t tear well and I didn’t want to dull my pocket knife trying to cut through an abrasive media. This material works great on a palm sander and, it seems easier to clean the abrasive surface of particulates than traditional paper does. You can also fold this up and use it by hand as well. The flexible surface also acts as a great gripping surface because it’s a bit tacky. I also used this with oil and water on a metal surface. I think sanding with oil is where this stuff really shines. It holds oil really well. Overall, a great product! I’m switching from paper for sure!

Finally a sandpaper you can use without the worry of it ripping or tearing at the slightest splinter, or rough edge. It was a very pleasant experience, using this paper, no rips, no tears, just a nice smooth finish on my grandsons wooden project. The backing is superior to any I've ever used before.

This is absolutely amazing sandpaper! It does everything claimed it can do in the video. Extremely long lasting. I was sanding some tables I made and I never changed sandpaper other than to switch grit. Kept going and going and it's still good. I was banging into pieces of wood on the sides and corners and didn't have any tears. I did hit a nail that was popping up and got a small tear in the paper but that didn't stop it. The tear didn't grow as I continued to sand. Didn't get clogged up either. I am thoroughly impressed!

Very flexible and strong! Fits easily on my orbiter sander and works well on a sanding block. No clogging. Worked well on my cedar paneled room. Easy to store in my tool box.

This is one great versatile product. you can fit it into any space, even a crack or around anything. I depend upon it to get into the lines I carve in wood. Takes a load of work and keeps on sanding. I cut it but I have never had a tear or crack in a sheet. Well worth every penny spent.
