how soon after painting does the tape have to be removed?

I finished painting my living room ceiling, waited about 20 minutes and attempted to remove the tape. most of it came off, but have to back with razor blade to get the rest off of the hardwood trim . Also, can i leave it on after priming , wait for primer paint to dry, finish paint the room and then remove the tape?

You should remove the tape prior to paint completely drying to avoid pulling paint from area. remove tape while paint is tacky for best results. Pull tape towards the painted area and not away.

Will this work for exterior painting, particularly a wooden shed. I have a bunch of it already so didn't know if I would see a large difference by purchasing the exterior (2097) tape.

This will work fine outside as long as temps are above 50. In colder temps the tape doesn't release as well when removed
