Customer Reviews

5 in. Elevated Nickel Number 2 is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product when I followed a few tips to install I was a little leery buying this with the reviews but Home Depot is rather close and other options I was looking at were $25 ea verses $24 for all of them. I didn't have any issues with the hardware except that I had to use a pair of pliers to screw the bolts into the numbers. When I set the numbers on the templates one post was typically slightly off on each number. Instead of trying to straighten the shaft I simply redrew the circles of where to drill on the template with how the posts lined up. I taped the templates together with blue painters tape making sure the numbers lined up with a level and attached it to the shingles using the same. I followed the directions with a 1/8" pilot hole and then a 1/4". As I have really dark paint i opted to add a coat of paint over the holes to cover any exposed wood before filling the holes with clear caulk and inserting the numbers. The picture shows just a bit of the caulk before it dried clear. Lots of positive feedback from friends and neighbors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful Numbers, But Very Poorly Made I have been trying to find some modern house numbers for my home and came across these at Home Depot. They are very beautiful and just the style I was looking for. The price was right so I drove 30 minutes each way to pick them up since I did not have a Home Depot near me. I had someone install these for me onto a custom steel plate and just trying to screw on the posts two of them broke off. I had to drive back to Home Depot again (30 minutes each way) to get replacement numbers. Once they were all screwed in, pushing them into the pre drilled post holes two more of the posts broke off! I was very gentle, the pot metal they are made of is just garbage. It was not worth the cheap price to have these numbers because of all the driving and the poor quality. I ended up rigging them with other screw options and they look good on my home. But I do not recommend these to anyone because you WILL have problems. Its a shame because I really wanted to like them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great looking numbers, cheap screws. We bought the black numbers and love the font and the 'floating' option, but several of the screws broke with only minimal pressure. We exchanged one number the first time it happened, but after the second and then the third we gave up. That meant filing 12 holes in our exterior wall with wood putty and then touching up with paint. A wasted hour or two with nothing to show for it. We returned them all.

Each number includes 2-3 screw in bits. Each number had 1-2 of these break on installation. They appeared to be a metal coated plastic material. It's great that the numbers each came with a paper template for locating where to drill the holes. The screw bits however are not fully round on all parts thus need a larger drill bit than stated (for the flush mount part and the floating mount part). This also means that if you use their included hardware (the screw bits) and drill for them to fit, you will also have to fill in around the drilled hole once the numbers are installed and paint over the visible edges if you try to flush mount them. My address is 5 digits long. This was the same for all five numbers, so it's not like someone with a shorter address having an issue with just 1 number where it could likely be a defect. It's not often that I would say to avoid something and think it strong enough to type up a negative review...that said, DO NOT buy these if you are going to install them with the provided hardware. As the backs of the numbers are not solid and have an open space, I would suggest purchasing a clear sealant, piping that into the back, around some small woodwork nails. Once dry, you can place a towel over the front of the numbers and gently hammer them into place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Handsome numbers with GARBAGE hardware Very nice looking and decently well made, but as other reviewers have stated, the supplied hardware is absolute trash. For as inexpensive as they were I figured I'd make them work if they broke, and that's exactly what I had to do. One stud was bent and snapped the second I attempted to straighten it, while the second stud in that package had a raised vertical seam in its threading, rendering it completely useless. Overall, you get what you pay for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Good Price The studs break off using the pressure needed to attach them. I followed the instructions "Attach the studs". Cheap compared to orther alternatives just be sure to consider the cost of travel to the store to exchange the ones with broken studs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The numbers have a modern, attractive finish but the studs are plastic which can break easily. The numbers have a modern, attractive finish but the studs are plastic which can break easily.
