Why do we need 6 quarts of battery acid for ? much does the battery hold? does it need to be refilled every day, week, month, upon use? or will it be

enough to fill a new battery that we will need every day, week, month, year, or per use???????? then if you use the box is that safe to store after you open a corner to pour the acid out??????????? Your information is making it very hard to not skip this and call a plumber who will put in a great all in one pump for $600..............
Asked by: slycook
Read the directions. Its not 6 quarts. The battery manufacture recommends checking level weekly. Refill with DISTILLED WATER ONLY after 1 filling with acid.

What is the actual concentration of H2SO4?

The MSDS declares a sulfuric acid concentration between 1% and 51%. That is an extremely broad range and an insufficient answer. So what is it really?

But the system for filling the battery leaves much to be desired. It's difficult to regulate the flow, easy to overfill--and easy to get spills and splatter. I suggest that Home Depot sell battery fill bottles right next to the acid pack and that you somehow strongly recommend that customers also by the fill bottle. They can continue to use the fill bottle (or fill pitcher) to replace water in the battery as needed.

Should come as a kit for one price, instead you think you are getting a good deal, only to find out you have to pay 22 more dollars for the acid. The acid was easy to use but fill the battery outside with ventilation as it gives off a rather noxious gas when you are first covering the battery plates.

It would be nice if they could engineer a fill adapter that would stop filling when the acid reached the proper level like the water fill cans have on them. The price seemed a little high especially when you add the price of the battery and the acid together.
