Can home depot cut into a specific size.

Asked by Ray December 4, 2019

If you need to cut to a specific size i recommend purchasing a larger piece of glass that we sell and buying a glass cutting tool kit sold in the same bay to cut to size needed. There are instructions on how to do this properly. To my knowledge the Home Depot does not cut in store. Thank you--

I purchased this so that I can test out the rust-o-leum brand frosted glass spray on a very small scale before I used it directly on my sidelight window panel next to my front door. This piece of glass was perfect for my experiment before I committed to this technique. Excellent price and product. Only issue I have is that if I were using this piece of glass for something else, the sticky stuff has the paper still adhering to the glass. Should be able to see in the photo. I would assume a product like skin so soft or something oily would help remove that if you’re planning to use this for something else.

Description is WRONG. This glass is only 3/32" thickness, not 1/8" (0.125). Each piece is nicely packaged, but the description needs fixed. I had to return and it was a wasted trip.
Indestructible glue make this size difficult to use
I was re-glazing 3 6-light panes. No old wavy glass, but it was just weathered with paint, glazing, and caulk everywhere. I thought it would be easiest just to use new glass rather than try to carefully preserve and then clean the old glass. So I bought a boatload of these. Boy was that a mistake. These are shipped with a cardboard backing which folds over about 3" on each end, and it is then attached to the glass with the strongest glue imaginable. I could see using some lightweight glue to prevent slippage, but this stuff is HEAVY DUTY. I had to go buy Goof-Off, and even THEN there was still traces of the glue there. So I reverted back to using the old pieces and I'm returning the unopened quantities. I have no idea why they decided to use this glue, but it was a colossal mistake. I had prior purchases of larger sizes, and they didn't have the same issue. From now on if necessary I'll just buy larger pieces and cut them to size myself.

adhesive is hard to remove, did not fit in picture frame
I got this to put in a picture frame as the original glass broke. However I ran into two problems 1) Adhesive on the glass, which is tedious to remove 2) did not fit in my frame. (2) is not the fault of the product or of HD so I guess there is nothing to do about this. But am disappointed.

It was great. I just wish you didn’t put adhesive on the glass because that’s a pain to get off.

Great quality glass. Home Depot is the only hardware store...
Great quality glass. Home Depot is the only hardware store that carries pre-cut 8x10 glass sheets. My biggest gripe is that no store carries more than 3 or 4 in stock at a time and they are almost always out of stock. Takes quite a bit of elbow grease to clean them but that's not so bad.
