Titebond II dries with an orange-brown color. For thinner glue lines, only apply glue to one side before clamping.

My wooden bed split/cracked at the top. I want to repair the split in the wood. How do I effectively use this glue?

Asked by: Dienamarie
Titebond II Premium Wood Glue will repair split and cracked wood. Apply the glue to one surface and put the two pieces together into position. Clamp in place for 24 hours. If you cannot properly clamp the two pieces, consider using Titebond Titewrap to wrap around the two pieces to hold them together while the glue dries. If it cannot be clamped or wrapped, do your best to hold them in position while the glue dries, by setting them aside and supporting them in position. It is best not to hold them together by hand as the glue dries because any muscle shaking will break the newly forming glue lines and cause weak joints.

Titebond II is a weather resistant wood glue that can be used on the glue area of the rifle stock to repair the wood. It sands after drying.

Met the need for furniture repair above and beyond. And it is very cost effective as well, and since a powder, expect it to have a long shelf life as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Butcher Block Table with no problems I use Titebond II all the time and find no issues with gluing up butcher block tops. Some of the darker woods though are oily and need to be wiped with acetone before gluing to get a good bond. Also, Titebond II dries fast with very fast grab and if glue up takes too long, the bonds can be affected. For longer glue ups, use Titebond III. Ask to special order Titebond II Extend if you need even longer open time.

I have used Elmer's for years, but on a recent trip to Home Depot this was all they had available in an outdoor wood glue. This glue is like water, not an attribute you really want in a wood glue. Runs right off the surface of the wood. This might work in some situations but when bonding two pieces of wood you really want the glue to stay in place. Not run all over your project.
