What is the length of the umbrella ribs? I'm looking for a length of 54 inches

Arwen, This umbrella has an overall width when open of 105.5". Each rib goes into a central hub, and then a second part connects to a pole surround. So the literal answer would be a bit complicated. Probably would not hold up in a windy setting

I recently replaced my old (1993) wood pole, 9 foot patio umbrella with what I thought looked like a similar product. After unboxing the umbrella and installing it in my deck patio table I noticed some issues. The pole is wood covered in a plastic layer. The base of the pole shows what look like stress fractures in the wood. Because the pole diameter is less than the old pole about 1 1/2 inches the whole umbrella wobbles in the table opening. The first mild wind almost snapped the pole where it screws together. Given all of that I decided to see if I could salvage the thing. I installed a wood shim at the base so that the holding screw would not further splinter the pole. To solve the pole bend I used a 26 inch length of PVC pipe to prevent any future pole damage. I am attaching photos. I think it will last the season with my modifications but unless you are somewhat handy you might want to select a better product

Great value for the price

We have a HUGE and very sturdy umbrella, that is designed to withstand the heavy winds that we are, at times, subjected to. The umbrella is too large to place into our new patio table set, so we searched for one that wasn't too expensive. I chose this umbrella because of the wood pole, and the price. So far, the umbrella has served its purpose well. It's perfect for the time of day that the sun is overhead and we want enjoy an outdoor meal. The only feature I wish this had was to be able to tilt the umbrella-- but that's what you pay more money for! Sometimes, the Salinas winds can get pretty intense so we won't use the umbrella then. It looks pretty sturdy, but I'm not going to chance it! Shipping was very fast, too, and we liked that it was free to our home.

We received this umbrella about three weeks ago. I was sitting out back with my husband and looked up. I noticed the wood under the fabric is molding. I don’t think the right paint or wood was used for this. The fabric doesn’t seem water proof either. Very disappointed! We had our last umbrella for years with no problems. Hopefully Home Depot will make this right.

We ordered two umbrellas; one had a problem with the wooden top piece…the insert to screw the top piece has missing, therefore, I had to improvise something to screw the top piece into. The problem umbrella was the first to arrive, and I was concerned that the second one, which arrived a day later, was going to have the same problem. It did not, and we are happy with the way they work

Faded Glory!

As of this writing, we’ve had the umbrella something like 45 days. The deep rich forest green umbrella we purchased is quickly fading and is nearly as sun faded as the canvas umbrella we replaced - which lasted 10 years! At this rate, we’ll have a lime green unbrella by end of summer. Not good!
