Hi, When you say roof rafters I am assuming the trusses? If so - yes you can, however I would choose a slightly more breathable product called 10.2 ft. x 375 ft. Pro Pac Insulation Fabric part number ICPP122.

What would you recommend for a pole barn to use blown in cellulose in the walls with post being 8’ on center

Answer

The insulweb is the strongest product. The spans are going to be so large, I see sagging being an issue - I would look into steel banding every two feet to help hold the product from sagging. Otherwise look into metal building insulation - the WMPVR surface will protect the insulation underneath and it will be less likely to bulk out from no support in an 8' span.

This is the strongest fabric available in the market. Make sure to put staples at 2" intervals or less for best support.

Can air pass through the material, such that it could be used for vent screening?

Asked by SCVD August 15, 2018

Answers

Air does pass through this product - it is typically used for blown in insulation so air needs to escape as the wall channel fills. However it is a one time use product. Once the cavity is full the drywall is put in place. I am not sure how it will filter long term since we do not sell it for filtering.

Do you sell smaller rolls , smaller than 375 ft ?

I bought this to hold blown in insulation in my walls and this product did exactly what I needed it to. It stays tight on the walls and is easy to cut and trim while being very durable.
