First one didn't work, they sent a replacement in 5...
First one didn't work, they sent a replacement in 5 days. The new works great, and on fan setting 5 it's not to loud, does a good job.

Aircare will Change your Life for the Better
Within a year of relocating from a community in California's coastal plain to the high desert, I went from doctor to doctor attempting, unsuccessfully, to obtain treatment for a sinus infection. Their one-size-fits-all answer was to insist on treating "allergies" with steroid nasal sprays — because none of the specialists I saw connected my year-around symptoms to ultra-low humidity. I like the fact that this pedestal-style AirCare unit blends in with furnishings in my home and doubles as a stand on which to display things rather than screaming "Appliance!" Mine has been in continuous operation for almost three years on the medium speed, which keeps my house at ~40% humidity vs. the ~14% it was before. It's not super quiet, it's necessary to refill virtually every day and the wicks aren't particularly cheap to replace. However, compared to experiencing unrelenting 24/7/365 headaches and nosebleeds, this purchase is a no brainer for anyone who lives in a dry climate (mountains/desert).

Noisy
Bought it because the tank allowed me to put in a refill tube/float. The unit is very noisy above the lowest fan speed. The wick is positioned so air doesn't flow through it, so it does not provide the humidity I had hoped for the whole house.

Hello, Al! Our humidifiers are made to put a lot of moisture into the air. We would probably get a lot of complaints if they didn’t. With that powerful output comes a little more noise; most of our customers liken it to a box fan. If you find it bothersome, we recommend running your unit at the highest speed during the day, then reducing the fan speed while you are sleeping.
