Here are the facts: Q & A without the Q.
If you have read these hilarious reviews, like me, you may have some questions before purchasing this item. After my purchase and use of this hot tub, I'm here to at least post the answers to the questions I had. Yes, it cooks corn and or anything you would traditionally put on a grill for low and slow grilling. Veggies seem to be safe but to cook anything else, the coal and heat it would take could cook you along with your food. Yes, it comes with an insulated cover. Yes, about 2.5 hours. From garden hose to jump in time took almost a full bag of coal. The insulated topper helps save the water for another day and lowers the cost of coal use until you drain it. Firing it that hot seemed to be wasteful. I believe I can get away with a half bag of coal and wait another hour. Also, only use insulated topper after water is at the desired temperature, not while coal is being stoked. Topper will burn/melt if put on while stoking the fire. No, like in the display photos there are no bubbles. Which is great, I bought this because it didn't have anything extra like pipes or electronic components to break during a cold Alaskan winter. Yes, it can fit two people, spoon-like fashion or on opposite ends. I'm 5'8" and she is 5'1" and there is plenty more legroom when one of us sits in it. Yes, it did leak with the first fill. I tightened the metal straps and just let the wood expand, and 24 hours later the leaks stopped. This tub does come with extra wood silicon calking if the leaks don't stop. I have also used sawdust to fill in where leaks may be. Yes, it's all assembled. There was a little bit of assembly with the grill but it's not hard at all, no tools needed. It traveled from Tennessee to Alaska in a wooden crate that was 6+ feet long, so bring an empty bed truck to take it home. Personally, this tub is awesome! This wooden tub is beautiful, it was already put together and had nice rubber rails around the tub. This hot tub was exactly what I was looking for but the thought of purchasing a 1600+ dollar tub that had to travel across the country, an 8-week wait, and no real photos, made me a little hesitant. Hopefully, I have addressed some questions others may have on this product to make a more conscientious purchase.

Yes, this is an awesome hot tub, but there are some issues. We have not been able to get the water hot enough. We have tried 2 times, adding charcoal again and again. We will continue to work with it. And the previous reviews are correct-it does leak alot. We will be fixing that with the included silicone caulk. Other than that it's beautiful and we love that it doesn't need to be plugged into anything!

The concept of this tub is wonderful. It’s a leaker - not just from the wood not swelling- it completely drained all 100 gallons overnight. The stove proved to be the source of the leak. We have removed it and are modifying this tub to be solar heated. It’s large enough for two people, very comfortable and completely off grid and is perfect for our rural track of land. I live it despite its failings.

      Dream tub!
My family loves this tub! We’ve been able to install it on the patio which makes for a really lovely stargazing/soaking experience, plus it really enhances our annual Fourth of July cookout when we invite the neighbors, light some sparklers, boil up some healthy CotC (our family nickname for korn on the kob) and enjoy it while we all soak our toes in the tub! We can fit up to 20 feet in the tub at once. And that’s a lot of korn!

              Corn Cooker
The corn I cooked on this thing was superior.. so tender and juicy it almost melts in your mouth. Takes a helluva a lot of water but the quality cant be beat.

Put a lid on it and stir every 15-20 min.
Im 5'11" and about 160lbs and my wife is 5'9" 150lbs and we BOTH fit in it together (comfortably) as long as we sit opposite each other. Which, actually works out because my wife doesn't like the water as hot as I do so I sit on the end nearest the stove. Also, If you Put a lid on the tub and stir every 15-20 min. in about 2 hours you can EASILY get the tub to 108-112. The lid REALLY helps and will cut down on the amount of coal used! WE.LOVE.IT

Got this three days ago and it’s more than I could have hoped for. I use a two jet bath spa to rotate the water and instead of a rack of ribs. I put a 4l kettle both help with the heating. Gets pretty hot. I’ve had it to 46c and had to let it cool down. The outside weather now is around 45f. I’m hoping to use it when it snows. Doesn’t come with a cover. I use an old inflatable spa cover. Works great.

NIce construction and functions great. Takes 3-4 hours to get the temp right but very enjoyable once heated. Uses about a half bag each use. We drop a 1/4 chlorine tab in if the water is going to stay in for a few days. Usually drain it every couple uses. Takes about 25 minutes to fill to minimum line but would depend on your water pressure. I was a little concerned about how much it initially leaked but I tightened the bands slightly and by the next day it had stopped. Very important to make sure it's level when installing. My wife and I can both fit in it at the same time if we sit opposing each other or if we sit the same direction and she leans back against me. (We're average sized people). Used part of the wood shipping container to make a cover for the open tub part. We put clear coat urethane on the outside exposed wood. Well worth the money. Would buy it again.
