AnswerHi Tara, Yes, you can use the light while it's plugged in. It will also operate approximately 6-8 hours wireless (independent of the charging cord), with a full charge. This light is IP67 ratted, so it can be used outdoors in wet weather if it isn't connected to the charging cord.

Do these globs come half white/black

AnswersHi Joe, Thanks for the question. The globe, not illuminated by the LED bulbs is all white. It has 16 different color options, that the use controls with the remote or button located on the bottom of the globe. However, of the 16 color choices, there is not a black option.
