The exposed face is 4 1/2-inches. The whole board is 5 5/15-inches wide.
Hi Ryn - Check with your local Home Depot. Check out the video for some how-to instructions.
Find studs in the wall for nailing, or have pressed board / plywood behind to nail anywhere.
The actual exposed face measurement is 4 1/2 inches. This makes each board 3 sq ft> each box 18 sq ft.
Jada - This product is designed primarily for interior use. If there's a near zero chance it'll get wet, I'd say you're probably safe using it as a ceiling cladding in a porch. I'd use it in a bathroom, for example, and there's plenty of humidity in there.
Hi Kathy - The boards are very light, a few pounds at the most. More importantly, I think, is that the boards I got were straight and easy to interlock with each other. I installed my project 'top-down' and even the tightest pieces only required a few taps to snug up tightly.
One piece would cover approximately 3.5 square feet, so a box would cover approximately 21 square feet.
Maybe as long as the existing paneling is flat and you know where the studs are so you can attach the new.
I think a main concern might be humid vs dry environment. After we painted the boards, they tended to bow upward, so installing was a little more challenging. Don't think they'd be affected by cold
Yes. It's finger-jointed radiata pine. Solid wood. Factory-primed (twice). Very smooth and flat.
