Out of state repair
The compressor got extremely loud. I realize the unit is a out of warranty but the company refused to help me at all because I am in the USA and they are in Canada. Everyone of us that purchase a refrigerator would expect a compressor to last a few years. I have one in my garage is over 20 years old and still works fine! I even ask if I could buy a new compressor so I could get it fixed here. The answer was no again. So buy a new RCA refrigerator every year, after 1year plus 1d buy another one!!

    Good refrigerator for money
I like it so far, it got cold pretty quickly and will fit well in my space. Only issue I have is it’s missing one of the leveling feet. I’m not sure if Home Depot will help get me one or I have to contact RCA.

Small but big enough for the garage, I keep it in 1 1/2 and is perfect so it doesn’t freeze your stuff on the bottom but cold enough for your drinks and to keep your frozen items in the freezer at the right temperature without spending a lot of electricity. Since is small I build a base in 2” stock angular with 10 inch legs and the bottom empty portion can work as a storage.

      unproblematic!!
I live with two roommates and the fridge provided isn’t enough room for all of us, so I bought myself this fridge. My biggest worry was all the reviews that says the fridge comes dented but, fortunately, I didn’t find any dents on mine when I picked it up. I’ll chalk that up to luck though. I don’t use the egg holder (it just sits in there), it moves around too much on the shelf, so I took it out. Haven’t tried the ice tray since I use the ice-maker in the kitchen fridge. I keep the fridge at 2.5 (coolness?) and it keeps all my food fresh. I will say though, due to past experience with a bad fridge, I put my milk in the back of the fridge, so I can’t attest for how fresh milk is kept on the shelf. Ive put others things on the self though and they seem to be just fine. I’ve had it for almost two months and it’s perfect for holding all the food I buy and it fits in a nice little corner of my room. All you gotta do is plug it in and the cord gives you somewhere around 2-3 feet.

This will be long. Key notes about the fridge will be added at the end if you want to scroll down. Certified readers, scholars, students, and sarcasm proceed only. First and foremost, I was missing a part, a leg, underneath. The metal piece that attaches the legs to the body of the fridge is also missing. So even if I could find legs online I can’t screw it in without that metal piece technically. The legs are suppose to hold the fridge up and steady without leaning. I only received three legs, the two in the back and the legs on the front right side. (There are actually two legs on each side in the front. The two in the back are rollies and the two in the front are standstills) Lord why must they deceive me. Pictures will be included. After much thinking, and after calling customer service, I came to realize that nothing in life is perfect so I took off the legs on the front right and it now stands ALMOST perfectly. The 1800 number was trash. I could not find a line for RCA. I opted for magic chef and the representative couldn’t even internally transfer me. I ended up calling my local store and that representative had excellent customer service and informed me that I could return it there. After much self-thinking I came to realize, if I return it and order again I might get another RCA that is more defected than something as simple as missing legs. So I started my research experiment. I decided before returning, I would make sure this fridge was even adequate. I turned to setting 5, like they recommended, and put a couple of drinks in the fridge (not cans bc of course cans get cold fairly easy). I put the drinks on each level and in the door. They were all nice and cold after a little time maybe more than an hour. Of course the vegetable tray wasn’t as cold as the others because it’s not suppose to be. It’s for food that should be cold but not too cold like other foods. Now I tested out the freezer. I normally make all my frozen fruits and vegetables myself. I chopped up a banana and placed it in a bag that already had a few frozen bananas in it. This will test if the bananas will freeze and if the already frozen bananas will stay frozen. They were placed right before bed and I woke up to them all freshly frozen! Horray! Nice and hard, nothing mushy. I may not be returning this fridge over something so minor because I learned nothing is perfect and I would rather stick with this fridge bc it has defects that can easily be adjusted like sticking a block of wood underneath or finding something similar to attach and add a leg to. There’s no point in reordering bc my gut is telling me that they all may be defected in some way. In testing the coldness, the conclusion is that it works really well. I’m content although I still wish I had that extra leg. That’s the end of my small talk. NOTES/TIPS 1. The fridge is way taller than expected. I got that big box and couldn’t even pick up my groceries. I have a SUV and my trunk was FULL. I had to put my seats down. It’s super tall. I’m 5’7 and it sits to my shoulders. I did not expect it to be that tall, but it will be useful. If you have a tiny car I don’t know how you’ll get that thang home. I suggest putting it in the front seat and reclining the seat all the way back or seeing it it will lay and fit across the back seats. It’s massive! 2. The Home Depot workers suggested that it will act right after a day. You know the warehouse workers throw things around. It even says on the pamphlet to allow the fridge to sit upright for two hours just in case it hasn’t been carefully handed. I waited a day to turn her on. 3. Place the fridge on setting 5 when you first turn it on. That is what’s suggested in the pamphlet. It will allow your fridge to work hard to start up. Once it is at a cool rate set her to 3 or 4. You do not want your fridge working hard for the rest of her life. I thought of that when reading some reviews of how the fridge stopped working. Keep it on 3/4. When you want to freeze something that is when you can move it to 5 again. After it is frozen, return it to 3/4. 4. I wanted to place it on a hard floor but I have it on carpet. There has been no leaking. If condensation is heavy it is because she is colder than the outside environment, again try keeping her on 3/4. Also, allow at least 5 inches of space from walls to allow proper ventilation. You do not want that thang leaking or blowing up. 5. When moving it, again, there are rollers in the back. She can be pushed by leaning her backwards. You do not have to drag or sashay her throughout the house. Important note for my independent ladies: when opening the box just cut the bottom and you can lift the box off. There are only a few staples around the bottom so that is where it’s intended to be open. All that cutting the sides and trying to rip it apart like a Christmas present will be too much work. Trust me. Haha! If any Home Depot associates are reading, can I have my extra leg? Thank you.

We have a very limited space in one of our departments, this mini fridge is perfect. We can now keep a bag of ice and still have room for other items in the freezer. We've had for just a few weeks and we love it!

          Piece of Crap
Purchased online at Home Depot. Great size for 2nd backup fridge/freezer for overflow and beverages. First clue that something was wrong - two plastic pieces were broken, one looking like someone had tried to tape it back together. Not overly concerned - figured I could get replacement parts. However, the refrigerator NEVER got cold. The freezer worked initially - but then it was 42 degrees at the coldest setting, and everything thawed. Then it quit working all together. And this was all within 5 days. Home Depot referred me to the distributor - but their warranty process will take at least two weeks before we get a decision on how to proceed. Luckily, Home Depot has agreed to take it back - but now have to transport it back to the store (after it's all unpacked, and in a basement - not easy) A shame, as the size was perfect - no other one this size on the market, but not a good experience. Would not recommend.
