The rods can be taken out as they snap fit to ends as long as rods are not fit to smallest adjustable length.

What is the minimum length this will adjust to? I have 59 1/2" opening.

Does this screw into the wall with an anchor or does it affix with a tension bar?

Our ARISTA dbl adjustable shower rod mounts to wall with screws/anchors. We do sell an ARISTA tension bar in 2 different finishes if that is what you are in need of for your shower; Model # TSR0072-CH (chrome) and TSR0072-SN (satin nickel)

So to be fair.... Everything made today is cheap. This shower rod is okay but the thing is made totally of plastic. So it's flimsy. I don't really expect it to last long with pulling on the shower curtain to take a shower everyday. Also there is a ridge in there (you can see it in the picture) and it prevents the shower curtain holders from running smoothly. They get stuck on that ridge. I don't know a solution for this type of manufacturing. Maybe you have to shop at some industrial site (where the hotels get their stuff) to see quality? AND this item does not cost any less just because it is made cheaply. I cannot change the "Nickname" for this review, but it should read JUNK!

rods weren't angled enough to fit the angle we needed they went too straight across and cut through about a third of the shower space. to get our curtains up we bent them to what we needed but they look ugly. we are planning to buy rods again but not necessarily this brand or from Home Depot. we have a 37 inch corner shower.
