What is the measurement for depth?

AnswersHi, the depth to the wall is about half an inch. About 2 1/2 to the roller. It doesn't hold mega rolls but it looks beautiful. I took a picture, hopefully that helps you out.

AnswersI installed mine a couple years ago, so I can't give a measurement. What I did find was it to be same depth as the one it replaced and the overall opening needed to be cut larger. Good quality and holding up well. If it's too deep for your wall, you could shim it out with a handmade custom frame to seat it on. That might look cool. It's also returnable. Good luck.

Great product, but quality control issues
This is a nice-looking product, and it does indeed work with mega rolls, as other reviewers have indicated. We ordered two, and one came with a holder that had the wrong-sized protrusion (too large to fit in the hole). It's not worth our time and energy to send it back and order a new one, so we used a holder from the ones we were replacing.

I've put in several of these in our houses and we, and our clients love them. Make sure you use a stud-finder to help you locate where to cut your hole for the recess. This one is deep enough to hold almost all the double-sized rolls of toilet paper. It makes a much better look than the surface mounted roll holders especially in a tight space.

I liked the way the unit mounts to the wall. It fit the hole in the wall that was used previously to install the outdated recessed toilet paper holder. Simply tightened the two screws and the replacement was done. The thinness of the material however was a disappointment.

Finish is very nice, but metal gauge is too thin and return (metal forming) not deep enough. This is newly framed wall & sheet rock, so wall is smooth and flat. I cut the hole exactly square, to the mid-range of required opening, and installed; easy installation with the supplied kit. The problem: the four corners deformed after 2-3 days and are now bent out from wall enough to catch finger/hand if brushed up against. I will be replacing this with a holder that has thicker gauge and deeper return that will not deform after installation. Only installed it about 2 weeks ago; does not meet expectation. Most of what I buy at Home Depot is great quality, but not this one.

The color and finish on this was better than what I expected! It is sturdy and was very easy to install. Some copper accessories come with screws that are painted or coated to match and then when you use a screwdriver, it scratches the finish so that the underlying silver shows through. I was pleased to find out that the dark screws on this TP holder aren't soft and they didn't get scuffed up when I screwed them in. They aren't exactly the same color as the finish, but they look good and they match it nicely. I only ordered one at first, just in case I didn't like it. After I got it, I went ahead and ordered a second one for my other bathroom.

I found this TP holder to be very easy to install. The instructions were clear and if you follow them, it works out great. I was entertained by the many videos on YouTube regarding installation of very similar models, and how difficult some folks find these to be. One mistake I see people make on those videos is trying to put the backplate in the hole and then try to line up the bolts properly. The trick, and really what the instructions show, is to partially assemble the thing and leave the bolts loose until you get the thing placed in the hole. Then tighten it up as you situate it exactly how you'd like it.
