work great
Soot from a propane stove burning dirty. I had to clean a 24 x 24 ceiling and a 10 x 12 ceiling. I used 12 sponges. They worked great. simply wipe the soot of the ceiling. These are used dry, no cleaning mess.

This product barely removed the soot residue from candles off the wall. It was very hard to use/ hold the sponge.

I found out the hard way that these sponges are...
I found out the hard way that these sponges are used for a "high" heat fire soot, not a low heat fire soot. The difference is that high heat creates a dry soot and the sponges are supposed to work well on cleaning dry soot. My house had a low-heat, wet soot. The sponges just swirled the soot on the walls. A waste of money. I think the make should advertise for dry soot only!

I used these to clean fragile silk wall paper. Worked well except for really dirty and stubborn sports that needed those sponges sold elsewhere that are twice as thick and twice the price. Will buy again.

poor fire clean up
I bought the sponges to help with clean up of my apartment complex after a fire in a unit. It did not work. Of the four of us, we all tried the sponge, but all chose to go back to using towels and rags. I will not buy this product again. I do not recommend this product.
