yes you can connect it to your down spouts above gorund. they make a downspout adapter. i have mine exposed about three feet above ground connected to my pole barn. looks good with no issues.. not sure i would install it above ground. its stronger when its covered all the way around with dirt.

it should fit in the trunk or even your back seat. the 100 would fit in the trunk. just would need to tie down the trunk lid it comes in 25,50 or 100 foot rolls. Its not very heavy.
