Do you put it on before the snow comes?
The best way is to apply before the storm. It takes less melt of any kind to prohibit snow from forming than it is to have to remove.
Would this product be a good solution for keeping ice from building up on metal catwalks, metal landing and stairs?
Be careful with metal anything and liquids. Metals can become very slippery when using liquid Ice Melts.
What is the square foot coverage of a 275 gallon tote or how many gallons are applied per 1,000 square feet?
Application rates are as follows: 300 square feet per gallon for concrete applications and 1200 per square feet per gallon for asphalt applications
Can this be used on a canvas awning
Afternoon Scotty, We apologize for the late response. We recommend only applying to Concrete or Asphalt. With canvas awning the Calcium Chloride may soften the fabric itself shortening the life of the Canvas.
can you use this for summer dust control on gravel roads?
You could but it would take way to much product to be effective. I tried it on a small parking lot and it was good for a short time. It was a very dry year in Western Slope Colorado. I would find something else. But I love this product for snow!!! I use it every year!
