Heirloom Salad Greens Seed Pod Kit (7-Pod)

This was the first time that I've grown lettuce although I am an experienced gardener with other Aerogarden experience. The seeds germinated and the lettuce grew incredibly fast. I did lots of online research, including the Aerogarden blogs, to figure out the best cultural practices. I harvested well for about 5-6 weeks which helped eliminate going out during the Stay-At-Home COVID-19 mandate in our state. However, after about 6 weeks the crop was weakening and I gave up on it.

Followed instructions to a T and had thrilling results. Greens sprouted promptly. I have read some reviews and see a lot of folks who forget the dome covering. I found a big difference for the one I purposely omitted. Super happy. Just gifted on for my pop and he is like a kid calling with updates. Great investment. My jalapenos are looking great too!

I bought the 7 pod because 6 pod was unavailable. It said it had two of one of the 6, all were labeled salad greens so I don't know which was the extra. They grew almost immediately. That wasn't my problem. My problem is they all look exactly the same, not one different from the other. It said it was suppose to have 6 different greens and I don't think that was the case, they all seem to be the same greens. They grew great right away the 6 I planted. Was hoping they were going to be different greens as stated in the ad.

Only three pods grew of the salad greens out of seven pods. The pods were to dried out to hold water. Disappointing.

The butter lettuce is my favorite for snipping off a few leaves to toss on a fresh sandwich, though honestly, all three are good. Greens for the store are only good 2-3 days, and at this point of the pandemic I only shop 1-2 times a month. It's been really nice having something fresh and green available every day, whenever I want it. All three lettuces grow super fast. It's pretty rewarding to watch. At this point (month 3) I'm able to have a little side salad at least once a week as well as sandwich fixings. The plants keep chugging along! Once the plants are big enough to start harvesting leaves I recommend going a little bit light on the nutrients (3/4 cap in a Harvest Elite). My first round I ended up with some "burn" around the edges from over-feeding them. Your plants are happier and your nutrients last longer, so everyone wins! This collection is sweeter and crisper than the Heritage Salads mix. If you found the dark purple leaves of that collection too bitter or soft, give this one a try! I think for an actual dinner salad, the ideal mix would be mostly these three plus a little of the Deer Tongue and Red Sails from the other collection for a dash of extra flavor (and some basil, because if you have even one basil plant, you have a TON of basil.)

This is the only way to go..Grow your own garden in door. Seeing it grow from beginning to end.. This is amazing. Using and eating something fresh all year round.

the leaves are all burning on the edges and it hasn't lasted as long as it should. the lights are raised 6 inches and most of the lettuce is dead. It has proper amount of nutrients and water is kept at appropriate level. The seed kits don't seem to be as good as in the past and no answer for the burnt edges.

Highly recommend! Delicious and fast growing salad greens!

These grew very nice and tasted delicious! I'll definitely be buying more.
