CAN THIS FAN AND LIGHT BE INSTALLED ON A SINGLE DIMMER SWITCH

    Answer This Question

The light could be put on a dimmer, the motor should not be on a dimmer. They can be wired separate, but if you tie them together to work off of 1 switch, it would be best to be a switch, not a dimmer!

Yes, it can be installed on a single switch. I personally prefer a timer for the fan, just to not burn the motor out should it remain on.

You will need to vent to the outside, like installing a drying vent.

I installed this in our 2nd floor bathroom and connected the vent to what we had previously there. It would require venting of some sort for the blower/ vent to function correctly.

This is more for a bathroom. I would use a range hood fan that is vented out for cooking.

Nice looking light with powerful [louder] fan. Works well and adds warmth, appeal and functionality. This is the second one we purchased for our home. Not sure if we missed something during the installation, but we couldn't find a way to drop the assembly to allow for strapping (1x3 lumber for attaching ceiling drywall) so that the fan assembly would be flush with the drywall surface. Also, I suppose we could have cut a circle in the ceiling drywall, but we just cut a square to match the fan assembly. Reason I mention this is because taller people can see the square cutout through the slots on the light fixture. I suppose we could also paint the portion of the ceiling under the light a darker color. None of this was really a big deal or a showstopper, but worth mentioning.

Fan is louder than our previous, but more powerful . The metal housing was smaller than previous, which meant some additional steps to replace, had to add a block to the ceiling joist. no big deal .The round light cover Just barley covers the square hole in the drywall from the previous install, but it does cover . Nice looking fan, Wife loves it.

Great looking fixture for the cost compared to a traditional white exhaust fan. Performs well and installed two of these and we are extremely satisfied with the performance and look.

Overall, a good fan/light combo unit.
A very good unit. My only complaint was the plastic duct adapter(Collar) flap(Damper) was broke. A simple chat with Home Depot and I had its replacement in a few days. Home Depot is service is top notch, this is why I do all my shopping here. Install tip: This unit's fan box was smaller than my previous one, so the hole in my ceiling was too large. As seen in picture, the over sized hole is barely visible. I centered the new unit, then used 1x boards to fill in the gaps, on the attic side, of course. Then caulked every hole and seam, from the attic side. If I did not do this it would have pulled air from attic, instead of the bathroom. I will be buying am identical unit for other bathroom.

We purchased this unit several months ago and installed it last week. This unit was purchased to replace the same unit that was installed many years ago. My electrician installed it. We are pleased with the price and the looks. We installed LED lights so that we do not have to replace them anytime soon.
