Can this unit be used in a combined toilet & shower bathroom. Seem like it will only exhaust when there is humidity in the air. Can the auto feature be overridden with a timer?

Which pictures are correct? Looks like one of the pictures has the exhaust outlet is in the middle of the housing and the other pictures has it towards the corner of the housing. Assume some pictures were copied from the 90 and 100 CFM models on accident. Wondering as I would like to have the 110 CFM to replace my 90 CFM model without changing the housing and outlet pipe position connection.
Asked by: Tom
The one shown above is correct. The round exhaust outlet is in the middle of the fan.

6 inch to 4 inch vent reducer

can a reducing attachment be used to go from the 6 inch outlet to a 4 inch vent tube. Want to see if it can be installed to replace existing smaller fan.
Asked by: Craig
DON'T do it! It will make a lot of noise, yet move little air. If you can only run 4" ducting, this is NOT the vent fan for the job.

Quiet Zone 80 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 151.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from vibrations developing I have installed several dozens of these in the past. It was hard to beat the price for the CFM. The last house they put these in though, three out of four have developed heavy vibrations. I extracted the motor and made sure everything was clean. The little hamster wheel is grossly out of balance. Contacted the manufacture several times. They all went out in a six-month period. They did replace the first fan. The second two, they did not. The first fan that they replaced was out of balance from day one. Double check your Quality before you install them

I am excited about adding this to my bathroom when I remodel it this Spring. My daughter saw it yesterday and commented that it didn’t even look like a ceiling fan. She said it just looked like a real pretty light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This unit is as advertised. I tested it first on the bench and found it super quiet. I then took metal tape and taped up all unnecessary holes. DIY installation is easy if you are handy and familiar with tools. I have two complaints. 1) The mounting brackets seem somewhat flimsy for the weight of the unit and could be attached better. 2) The wiring box is tiny. Pushing 2 lines of 12/2wg plus wire nuts into the tiny box was a job so take care and move slow. Also beware of sharp edges on the entire unit. Once installed the unit is so quiet we weren't sure it was on. It held a #10 envelope fast to the grill.

It's hard to tell if it is running unless the room is very quiet and you listen very closely. It is rated at 100 cfm which is twice the flow rate of the noisy little fan that it replaced. It is set up to exhaust through either 6" or 4" round ducting and 6" is the more efficient way to go if you have room for the ducting - it helps keep things quiet by keeping the air speed down. It is larger than the old one but it fits fine between trusses on 16" centers. The recommended wiring is to use a 3-way switch at the switchbox and run two hot leads to the fan so that it can be switched on and off manually or switched so that the humidity sensor will turn it on and off for you. The humidity sensor and adjustment are located in a corner of the fan housing. The set point for the humidity sensor is a black rotary knob with 0-80% clearly marked. You can hear a click in the switch when you turn it which makes it helpful get an initial setting just above the room humidity.
