Product Details

The 1-1/4 in. x 2-3/4 in. x 96 in. Primed Fiberboard Crown Moulding adds character and tone to a room through its ornate pattern of the crown. It is installed where a ceiling meets a wall to soften the transition between awkward angles. It is also used to conceal uneven edges. Crown mouldings come in a variety of sizes and patterns and can be combined to create one of a kind moulding buildups.

    A:  That works fine. Because it will be painted, you can cover any cracks or misalignment with some painters caulk. Then paint for a seamless install.

      A:  Yes, just a 45 degree cut. Mounts easily with flat sides for the ceiling and wall.

        A:  If you purchase the 4 corner molding with your crown molding order you will not need to make angle cuts. That part is awesome. Saves time and aggravation.

          A:  Yes I back cut the hidden edge at 45 so it was easier to fit. Worked great. Cut the butt edge at a 90. Used Iron Grip and finish nails to secure it. All good.

            Display picture misleading
            I just got the 20 pieces I ordered yesterday. In the picture they look nice and smooth, ready to paint. In fact they are very rough. I’m surprised Home Depot would carry and sell a product so poorly made. If you want them to be nice and smooth like the picture, plan on sanding every one before you paint. Very disappointed.

              Perfect for anyone looking to tackle crown!
              Straight boards that were easy to cut due to 90 degree angle. First time installing crown, and it went great. Would highly recommend using a paint sprayer and thinned latex paint to provide a great finish that “stretches” to cover nails and caulk.

                This was my first time using MDF moulding. I’ve always used natural wood before.I was a little apprehensive about using it, but I liked the style and size of the Alexandria crown moulding for my bathroom re-do. After testing it with my miter saw and brad nailer I was pleased to see that it was pretty much like natural wood. I painted it, cut it and nailed it up and it looks great. Thanks for a great product. I would use it again.
