Product Details

The Stair Nosing is a moulding that combines style and function to create an attractive threshold that takes the brunt of foot traffic. The stair nosing buts up against the flooring while providing the proper overhang for a transition from one floor level to another. Stair Nosing's come in a range of sizes to match the thickness of the floor you are using. This stair nosing is designed for 1/4 in. thick flooring material.

      The wood and milling were perfect, but I had a problem with the height not matching the height of the engineered hardwood. The installer managed to shim it and make it match, but if you know its there I can tell.

        The molding fits great on my old steps and the underlayment and LVT comes up perfectly to the edge of the moulding. Two of the three boards I ordered were in great shape. The third board had a crack along the grain about 25 inches long which makes that portion of the moulding poor quality. I think the company needs to do better quality control.

        Check the pieces well
        I special ordered 10 noses for a staircase project. 1 of the 10 was a completely different material (different graining, different color). Several had very poor factory cuts which was an issue as I needed the length. Some had what looked like worm holes that I ended filling with putty. Unfortunately I had to use the product anyway because of a pre-scheduled install. Please check the product way in advance to give yourself time to re-order.
