Thank you for your inquiry, Mike. The widest point is 1.6875 inch. the height of the handrail is 1.5inch.
Thank you for your inquiry, Handrail. The Home Depot has available in their aisles, a cut-cart that allows shoppers to cut their moulding to length needed. You may be able to use that for this Pine Wood Handrail. Please speak to a home depot Associate for more assistance.
Thank you for your inquiry, Jodell. This unfinished pine handrail can be stained.
No purpose, probably part of the milling (creation) process. When I installed handrails of this type in my rental properties, I would use a bracket at least every three feet to insure there is adequate strength wherever you grab it. Of course, check with your state and local building codes to insure you comply with them in your area.
Hello Mike, thank you for your inquiry. I believe you are inquiring about small grooves along the bottom of the handrail. These markings typically identify the manufacturer, but do not affect the use of the moulding. It does not matter which side is closer to the wall when you install the railing. I hope this information helps you in the completion of your handrail project.
Hello Dance, thank you for your inquiry. Ballet barres are often round pieces of material that are 1-1/2" to 2" in diameter. Please be aware that this item does have a flat bottom and may not fit into standard ballet barre brackets. We hope this information helps in the planning of your current project. Thank you.
I looked at a picture of a ballet barre on line, and I don’t see why not. The rail is strong and looks like about the same diameter as a ballet barre.
Yes, I am sure you can. We used ours for our stairs.
Yes, you will need to mount the rail to the wall with long brackets onto the wall studs.
Absolutely!
If not, you can order it online. Probably a safer bet with all this Covid Chinese Flu nonsense going on.
CALL THE STORE for that information or select that store on the website and it will say whether that store has any in stock or needs to be special ordered.
I would suggest checking Home Depot website.
I have not found that length when I needed it. It is possible to get longer lengths by joining a 96" with a 48" length. A dowel kit is available to do this. A 5/16" center hole is marked and drilled out for a glued-in dowel(s) which join the 2 lengths again by gluing. 2 or more dowels might be needed for support.
Thank you for your inquiry. If you would like to know the availability of this item, we recommend calling your local Home Depot to see if they have it or if they can order one for you. We hope this helps.
I have never seen end caps for these. They are not sold primarily for hand-rail applications so that might explain no end caps as are found for much larger hardwood hand-rails. When I use them for a hand-rail I saw the end vertically and sand the sharp edge smooth. JG
Measure and cut 2 short piece at a 45 degree angle then glue it to ends. Makes a great end.
Thank you for your inquiry Phil. Unfortunately, end caps are not available for this item.
1-1/2 In. diameter PVC round table leg caps. I warmed them up to make them pliable. Even then it requires some finesse to fit them, but that's what you want because when they cool & harden they are staying put. Cellar = more functional than beautiful.
I have never found an endcap.
I haven't seen any end caps being sold for this handrail. If you do a good job sanding the entire handrail as well as the ends (which you really need to do anyway) you should have no need for an end cap.
