Product Details

Casing mouldings are installed around the inside of window units and on both sides of door units. Casing mouldings cover the joint between the jamb of the door or window and the house framing. Casing mouldings are available in many designs and widths.

          A:  Hi John, thank you for your inquiry. MDF is Medium Density Fiberboard, it is a substrate used to make mouldings that is not solid wood. This allows for a better price point. Casing is the moulding that is used to go around your windows and door openings. It closes the gap between the drywall and the door jamb (which is used to install the door or secure an opening in a wall). Good luck with your projects!

            easy to work with
            I have never worked with MDF before and liked it. It has a nice primed finish and it's straight. It also conforms well to uneven walls and copes well. I would buy this again and would recommend.
